We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Engineer – Transportation & Natural Resources to lead the design and management of transportation and natural resource engineering projects. This role combines technical expertise with project management, requiring the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proven track record in project profitability, and the ability to manage all phases of project delivery, from planning to construction oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project management and design for transportation and natural resource projects. 
  • Prepare engineering and design documents using computer-aided design software. 
  • Write and deliver technical specifications, reports, and correspondence for diverse audiences. 
  • Coordinate with government agencies, client representatives, contractors, and suppliers to gather information and secure approvals. 
  • Manage internal technical teams, ensuring project goals for scope, timeline, and budget are met. 
  • Oversee construction management, observation, and administration tasks. 
  • Prepare construction documents and specifications aligned with project requirements.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline. 
  • Minimum of 5 years in the design of transportation or natural resource projects. 
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Montana, Idaho, or Washington, or the ability to obtain within six months. 
  • Strong ability to manage tasks/projects, meet client expectations, and adhere to budget and timeline goals. 
  • Excellent work ethic with a deep understanding of engineering principles. 
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment. 
  • Effective at providing constructive feedback and leadership to support team objectives.
